What do I need as a Housekeeper - Laundry Assistant with Messiah Lifeways?
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
What will I do as a Housekeeper - Laundry Assistant with Messiah Lifeways?
- Follows cleaning schedule as outlined.
- Cleans Floors (dry mops, wet mops, vacuums, disinfects when necessary). Performs Emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
- Hallway cleaning - cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures; dust, spot cleans, disinfects, polishes, cleans ledges, pictures, railings, shelves, vents, fire doors, tables, chairs, lamps, vinyl, and upholstered furniture, etc.
- Inspects furnishings for wear and defects, and rearranges furniture as directed.
- Cleans and sanitizes public restrooms. Replaces paper supplies.
- Reports all problems and equipment failure to the Environmental Services Manager, and fills out a maintenance request slip when any repairs are needed in the work area.
- Follows proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment such as using a wet floor sign, and using rubber gloves when using strong chemicals. Reports safety hazards such as rugs that skid, overloaded wall plugs, and frayed cords to the Environmental Services Manager.
- Cleans assigned offices and lounges, empties trash and recyclables, dust, and polishes furniture. Vacuum upholstered furniture and carpets. Keeps all glass windows clean, wipes doors, doorframes, walls, and sills.
