The Glen at Scripps Ranch is a resort style Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Scripps Ranch (San Diego), CA.
This is a full-time position morning shift 8am to 4:30pm.

The Glen Scripps Ranch is now hiring Housekeepers! The Housekeeper is responsible for making sure that all types of residences within the Community are neat, clean, free from clutter and are safe. Housekeepers generally spend their days interacting with residents while sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning residential kitchens, bathrooms as well as public common areas while adhering to specific directions and schedules.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments and/or villas, such as: vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchens, dusting all cleared flat surfaces, making beds, cleaning patios.
- Performs general housekeeping duties of hallways and common areas as directed by Director/Supervisor.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition, including custodian closets.
- Maintain public areas assigned by Director/Supervisor.
- Clean empty units as assigned by Director/Supervisor.
- Cross-trained into Laundry as needed.
- Attends daily shift kick off meeting and participates in daily stretches.
- Assist other co-workers as assigned.
- Protects Community property/equipment and makes sure there are no defects.
- Notify supervisors on any damages, deficits and disturbances.
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
- Observes and notifies supervisor about noticeable changes in a Residents health, demeanor or disposition.
- Other duties as assigned by Department Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively with Residents, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be self-directed and motivated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the work day. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. When lifting over 35 lbs., you are required to ask for assistance. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 200 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces for long distances. May be exposed to communicable diseases including HIV and Hepatitis B viruses; industrial and household chemicals; offensive odors; and elevated heat levels.
CRITICAL FUNCTION:
This position is essential to the safety of our residents and staff; and to the operation and function of The Glen at Scripps Ranch. Employee may be recalled to report to work for an emergency, unusual occurrence, resident care need, visit from regulatory/governing agencies or any other event deemed necessary by the Administrator, Executive Director and designee.
