POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for cleaning, folding, pressing, and sorting Hotel linen to the quality and safety standards set by Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino, inventory control, counting, and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for specific positions.
- Work collaboratively with other Hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service and quality performance of team members.
- Wash, dry, fold, and store linens, including sheets, pillowcases, bedspreads, draperies, towels, mats, shower curtains, and blankets following company policies and procedures.
- Keep count of everything laundered each day and note this on the housekeeper sheet (when requested.)
- Check linens daily for wear or stains that may make them unsuitable for use. Keep count of rejected linens.
- Responsible for the day-to-day care of laundry equipment. Advise Hotel Facilities / Housekeeping Manager promptly concerning maintenance and repairs.
- Assist Hotel Housekeeping as assigned.
- Load and unload washer and dryer.
- Separate terry from linen and wash separately.
- Ensure that all linen and terry is free of stains and tears prior to washing.
- Clean dryer lint screens daily and as needed.
- Clean exterior of machines daily.
- Sweep and mop the laundry floor daily.
- Clean the entire laundry area once per week.
- Maintain laundry carts and racks by cleaning bi-monthly.
- Provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times.
- Maintain current health and safety policies and procedures and consistently meet standards of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance throughout the Department, including ensuring all required certifications remain current; Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies and proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local, and enterprise regulations.
- Maintain work area in a good and safe state of repair. Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked areas.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Able and willing to work any shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Perform all other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED, preferred.
- Six (6) months related experience and/or training preferred. Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Valid Washington State Drivers' License may be required to use company vehicles and must be insurable through STRC's insurance provider.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to the other duties described herein, each team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing, including any required gaming license.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Casino.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco products.
- Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance.
- Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions, fraud, acts of wrongdoing, and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management.
- Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and uphold a high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling and have knowledge of the Casino's programs to address problem gambling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry up to 75 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external guests and contacts.
- Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and crawl.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke; and extreme temperatures.
