Title: Host
Function: General Restaurant Operations
Shift: Days/Nights/Weekends - variable hours
Position Overview: The Host position greets the customer immediately when they enter the restaurant. This is a part-time position. This position must possess a personal and energetic personality to welcome and seat guests ensuring their needs are accommodated. The Host recognizes and knows how to assist parties with children, large parties, businessmen/women and all other types of people that enter. The Host controls the flow of the restaurant through seating and to alleviate servers from getting multiple tables at one time to ensure each guest gets an excellent service experience. The Host must be aware of new menu items and specials and be able to answer all questions about the menu. The Host may also act as the person responsible for To Go Orders and selling of Merchandise. The Host follows up with guests as they are leaving to ensure they had a wonderful experience and reminds them of events to come back for. They are attentive to the FOH atmosphere and ensure that the overall cleanliness is being kept up for a great first impression. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains high knowledge regarding company's products, availability, specials, services offered, current & upcoming events, etc.; effectively communicates such to guests
- Greets guests when the guest enters the restaurants
- Acknowledges guests as they leave, thanking and inviting to return
- Communicates any relevant messages to servers and/or bartenders regarding guests' requests/needs
- Sets up and breaks down work station in accordance to department procedures and standards
- Completes all opening, running and closing duties as assigned
- Complies with uniform standards

Customer Service: Provides exceptional customer service to each guest on every occasion in order to achieve customer satisfaction. Looks for opportunities to exceed customer expectations and offers assistance accordingly. Displays genuine hospitality and courteousness on a consistent basis.
Non-Essential Duties:
- Respond quickly to sweeping and mopping up messes.
- Bus tables when busy.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by Lead Line Server or Manager.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate all electrical or mechanical devices adhering to all safety rules.
- Ability to maintain proper attitude, professionalism, and teamwork in areas of customer service and restaurant operations.
- Ability to tolerate cleaning solutions on a regular basis.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience in area of food server desired but not required.

- Must be able to stand and exert fast paced mobility for periods of up to 8 (eight) hours in length.
- Must have good sense of balance, able to bend, kneel and react swiftly to actions surrounding them.
- Must have the ability to lift bus pans, trays, cases of food and beverage
- Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally

- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and customer interaction.
- Ability to work in cooler for up to one hour.
As a condition of your hire, we require that post hire and within 30 days of your hire date, you successfully complete all federal, state and company required alcohol service and or food service certifications. All costs of these certifications are at your own expense. Failure to successfully complete required certifications within 30 days of your hire date will result in the company reversing its offer of employment and you will be terminated within your 90-day introductory period.
