Job Description:
Oak Hill Country Club, a Five Star Platinum Club of the World, is seeking dedicated, experienced, fast-paced individuals to join our service team in the main dining room. Our Host/Hostess is responsible for providing our members and guests with friendly, professional and expedient service to help create memorable dining experiences.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts.
General Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years to be considered
- Complies with Oak Hill Country Club's Acorns of Excellence
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club's appearance standards
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Anticipate guest and contact needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests
- Exceptional communication abilities when interacting with associates, guests, clients and internal departments to build relationships
- Able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision
- Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers
Job Requirements:
- Exceptional knowledge of all Oak Hill Grill Room standards and host operating procedures
- Exceptional communication abilities to direct the flow of the dining room with the supervision of management
- Writes the daily specials menu with direction from the culinary team and Grill Room management
- Prepares server specials cards for review at pre-shift line up
- Programs the Point-of-Sale system to reflect the correct items, pricing, and inventory levels as directed by the culinary team and Grill Room management
- Prepares and prints a floor plan with the direction of Grill Room management
- Greets each member and guest during the course of service and ascertains the name, party size and any special requirements
- Controls the flow of seating to ensure top level service and the success of the service team.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work environment
- Assists servers, attendants, food runners and cocktail staff as needed throughout service
- Assists members and guests with questions and directions
- Processes to-go orders in accordance with Oak Hill policies and delivers them to the valet station when needed
- Accepts reservation requests in accordance with Oak Hill policies
- In addition, other duties may be required as directed by management
Physical Requirements:
- All applicants must have evening availability for Tuesday - Saturday
- Must be able to continuously sit, stand and walk a minimum of 5 hours
- Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards
- Will be occasionally required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements
- Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral
- Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 30 lbs. over the course of a shift
Qualifications:
Education: High school or equivalent education required
Experience:
- Previous waitress, waiter or banquet server experience preferred
- Country club experience strongly preferred
Licenses & Certificates:
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
