General Overview:We are assembling a passionate team to lead and serve the guests of Nuri Steakhouse, an exciting new Dallas-based steakhouse with Asian influences. Our mission is to inspire people to embrace the diverse cultures of the world, and to play a vital role in connecting our communities through these rich cultural experiences.
We are looking for a warm, fun energetic Host/Hostess to join our team. Working under the supervision of the General Manager, our Host/Hostess’ are our masters of positive guest impressions! These team members are often the first and last faces our guests see when visiting our restaurant. They will determine whether each guest feels welcome, appreciated, and well cared for, this is why we do what we do.
We will provide you with the training you need to be successful. We take great pride in our quality food and friendly, impeccable service. Our high standards can only be maintained through great people like you who share our values and desire to do the very best job possible for our guests every day.
Essential Functions:- Greet and seat guests per restaurant sequence of service.
- Accurately and efficiently maintain the waiting list, while keeping management and guests informed of wait times.
- Answer phones quickly and politely without any sign of stress.
- Receive, record, and confirm reservations accurately and in a warm, accommodating manner by phone or in person.
- Assist management in the development and maintenance of the guest database.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace with clean and updated menus.
- Ability to converse with guests about menu questions in a detailed and articulate manner.
- Must have a working knowledge of menu items, food preparation techniques, and basic culinary terminology.
- Acknowledge every guest’s departure with gracious and sincere thanks and salutations.
- Prepare daily reservation sheets.
- Pull and arrange tables and chairs for guests.
- With the guidance of floor managers, they may be asked to train new hosts and reservations staff.
- Must report problem situations to management immediately.
- Ongoing cleaning and maintenance of physical plant and workstation according to established restaurant procedures. This includes pre-shift, post-shift, daily, weekly, and monthly duties as assigned by management.
- May be responsible for the correct handling of coat check duties.
- May be responsible for correct transferring of bar checks when necessary.
- Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and laws including health and safety standards.
- Perform server and bus person’s duties when required.
- Able to read, write, and understand English comprehensively.
- Basic math skills, and computer skills.
- Able to deal with guests professionally while maintaining a composed demeanor in high-stress situations.
- Promote the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K.
- Minimum two (2) years of upscale casual or fine dining experience is a plus, but not required.
- At least sixteen (18) years of age.
- Minimum two (2) years of reservation system is a plus, but not required.

- Ability to acquire a valid Texas Food Handler Card within 30 days of hiring.

Physical Requirements:
- Be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift 30 pounds.
- Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time.
