NEW YORK - PRACTICE ON THE ADIRONDACK COAST:The University of Vermont Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (www.UVMHealth.org/CVPH) in Plattsburgh, NY seeks two 2 full-time physicians to join the team. The ideal candidates should be BE/BC in internal medicine or family medicine. The full time physicians will work 13, twelve-hour shifts per month. Five physicians work the day shift (7am-7pm), one physician works the evening shift (12pm-12am) and one physician works the night shift (7pm-7am).
The workload is shared equally among the physicians. The typical census ranges from 40-55 with the average number of encounters per physician being 15-17 per day (8-10 at night). The scheduling is somewhat flexible with the full time physicians working anywhere from 6-8 shifts in a row. The daytime physicians may need to cover some evening and/or night shifts as needed. Codes from 7am to 5pm , are generally covered by the ICU attending, the hospitalist, or the attending of record. ER physicians also cover. During the night shift, the hospitalist on and an ER attending go to codes.
The full time physicians are employed by the University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group. The Medical Group is governed by physician members. The employment model transitioned from hospital employment to the Network Medical Group in 2018. Turnover in the group over the years has not been excessive. The physicians recently transitioned to a salary based model effective Oct. 1, 2021 in effort to align with other network hospitals. Compensation is subject to the Community Practice Adirondack Compensation Plan, Effective October 1, 2021. The salary is $309,960 *subject to slight change based on model adjustments. Evening and night shift differentials are added to your check as worked on a monthly basis ($201.27 per day/evening shift and $240 per night shift). Additional compensation for >1.0 FTE effort is as follows: $2,012.73 for day shifts, $2,214 for evening shifts and $2,252.72 for night shifts.
