About the Job
Hospitalist. Multiple Positions available at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV: Provide clinical care services to patients. Hospitalist is Internal Medicine & will treat adults. Will also perform following duties: Provide acute care to patients in hospital setting; Manage entire course of care through hospital stay, recommending & creating specific treatment plans & coordinating & consulting with specialists as needed; Admit patients from emergency dept. & for other consulting services & following care during hospital stay; Order studies, tests, & ancillary services & reviews results of tests; Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, & treatment regimens; Document services in patient medical record; Remain in close contact with patients’ primary care physician & other related providers, updating as needed on status & creating recovery plans for patients upon discharge; Communicate directly with patients to answer questions & address concerns; Communicate with advanced practice providers, nurses & other staff involved with patient care; Respond to any emergent codes for patients on hospitalist service; Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, & other patient care programs. Requirements: MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine. Must have a full & unrestricted West Virginia Medical License at time of employment.
