Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Patient Care Services to oversee and direct all clinical services within our hospice organization. The Clinical Director will play a critical role in shaping the overall direction of patient care, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and promoting the organization's mission of providing compassionate end-of-life care. As a leader, you will guide clinical teams, collaborate with other departments, and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Patient Care Services to oversee and direct all clinical services within our hospice organization. The Clinical Director will play a critical role in shaping the overall direction of patient care, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and promoting the organization's mission of providing compassionate end-of-life care. As a leader, you will guide clinical teams, collaborate with other departments, and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of all direct and indirect patient care services.
- Provide guidance and counseling to clinical coordinators and supervisors to enhance the quality of care delivered by hospice teams.
- Assist in managing clinical teams, developing care plans, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure comprehensive assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care.
- Support the Executive Director in managing the organization's budget, interpreting operational indicators, and adjusting staffing as necessary.
- Evaluate the performance of Clinical/Nursing Supervisors and assist in their professional development.
- Lead hiring, performance evaluations, and, when necessary, terminations of clinical staff.
- Oversee maintenance of patient clinical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement orientation programs for new staff and continuous education programs for existing staff.
- Assure compliance with ACHC standards, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Act as the Executive Director/Administrator in their absence.
- Promote hospice referrals within the healthcare community.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program (Master's degree in Hospice preferred).
- Minimum of three years of management experience in hospice or related healthcare setting, with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
- Minimum of four years of experience in a hospice agency, primary care clinic, or health facility, with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and mentor clinical and administrative staff.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare business management, governmental regulations, and ACHC standards.
- Ability to market hospice services effectively within the community.
- Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle.
