As a Hospice Admissions Coordinator, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- For all referrals received:
- verify patient insurance,
- perform data entry,
- gather medical records,
- order DME (Durable Medical Equipment),
- provide appropriate and prompt follow ups with respective parties.
- Complete audits in a timely manner.
- Schedule Hospice RN admission visit and schedule patient visits under the directions of a Hospice RN.
A few must-haves for Hospice Admissions Coordinators:
- Data entry experience
- Experience with insurance benefits.
- Billing experience is preferred.
- Hospice experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with clinical and non-clinical staff
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and computer software proficiency
