(Honeywell) Senior Level Controls Systems Engineer
Cordoba is seeking a dedicated and motivated mid to senior level control systems engineer in the design, development, programming, testing of Honeywell DCS-based Control Systems in the Industrial Water sector. The position will provide project support for the Honeywell Experion PKS DCS Programming; Testing, troubleshooting and overseeing the implementation of the new control systems or upgrades to the existing control system infrastructure; Providing process control/ Honeywell Experion PKS DCS checkout and start-up support of facilities to meet production schedules and meet business needs; and Working with P&IDs, instrument loop drawings and Honeywell Experion PKS DCS graphics as needed. The position is located at a large water recycling treatment facility that is using Honeywell control systems. Experience with Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) Distributed Control System (DCS) is required. Must be authorized to work in the US and be a permanent resident.
Responsibilities:
- Development of Honeywell Experion PKS DCS logic and interface software applications compliant with customer/company specifications and/or applicable industry standards.
- Assisting technicians with instrument troubleshooting.
- Supporting new process start-up activities.
- Designing Safety Interlocks both hardwired and/or using programmable safety controllers.
- Proactively analyzing existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
- Assessing customer needs to determine the alignment of unit/corporation business needs and the impact on business processes to establish strategic priorities.
- Making recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Identifying better sources of data feeds and interfaces with Enterprise Architects to ensure feasibility with corporate data warehouse.
- Led the development of guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development/ integration including developing and leading implementation plans for integration testing Interfaces with testing teams to incorporate plans into the integration testing process.
- At least 6 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- College Degree or Vocational Certificate in relevant field.
- Knowledge of Honeywell Experion PKS DCS programming and configuration, creating data points, and building graphics.
- Experience troubleshooting Honeywell Experion PKS DCS controls hardware and software.
- Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS DCS and PLC systems, instrumentation, field wiring practice, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Control Narratives, P&IDs, and Instrument Loop drawings.
- Honeywell Experion PKS DCS graphics.
- Creating, testing, troubleshooting, and overseeing the implementation of new control systems and upgrades to existing control systems.
- Knowledge of Network Architecture.
- Knowledge of multiple Control Communication Protocols – Ethernet IP, Modbus, OPC/DA, OPC/UA, Profibus/net, CIP, DL.
- Remote Support / Troubleshooting of system after installation
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Salary Range: $145,000 - $175,000 per year.
- Location: Los Angeles, CA - Hybrid - Two days in the office and three days at home.
