Home Health Aide / Caregiver Job Summary
Are you an empathetic and compassionate caregiver, who takes pride in helping people lead more independent lives? At Homewatch Caregivers of Lakewood, we are seeking an experienced home health aide/caregiver to assist our case managers in implementing patient-specific care plans. You’ll give our patients companionship and help with basic medical care, light housekeeping duties, personal care, and hygiene tasks so that they are empowered to live happily at home. You must have 1-3 years of experience as an HHA or caregiver and possess excellent communication skills. If you enjoy a position that is varied and rewarding every day, we want to hear from you!

Home Health Aide Caregiver Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the case manager to implement care plans for patients, and maintain updated and accurate care records
- Transport patients as needed to doctor’s offices or other health care services, grocery shopping, or for other errands
- Provide personal care tasks such as calling doctors’ offices, scheduling appointments, and coordinating social activities
- Oversee medication tasks such as medication reminders; and assist with meal preparation and planning
- Complete basic medical tasks such as recording vital signs, and ensuring the proper use of medical devices
- Help patients complete exercise, and physical therapy and ambulate the patient as indicated in the care plan
- Maintain psychological and emotional support for patients and family members - provide quality companionship
- Stay on top of light housekeeping tasks including but not limited to laundry, bed making, vacuuming, etc.
- Enable patients to complete personal hygiene tasks like bathing, toileting, shaving, grooming, dressing, etc.
Home Health Aide Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required - some college preferred but not required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is highly valuable- approved home health aide training programs from community colleges are accepted
- 1-3 years of experience as an HHA/ home health aide, personal caregiver, nursing assistant, or personal care aid for a home health agency, at patient homes or care facilities settings is needed
- A valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance is required
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, you may be required to stoop, bend, reach, and transfer patients up to 250 lbs as needed
- Pass a full employment background check
- Empathetic, compassionate, and kind personality with excellent organization and communication skills are desired
Home Health Aide Compensation
$18.00-$23.00 per hour
