We are seeking a kind and compassionate home health aide who has excellent communication and companionship skills to provide basic medical care, light housekeeping duties, personal care, and hygiene tasks so our patients are empowered to live happily at home. You must have 1-3 years of experience in home health implementing care plans, and make your patients’ health and safety your first priority. $23 - $25 hourly
Responsibilities:- Help patients accomplish personal care tasks like scheduling appointments, calling doctors’ offices, and coordinating Medicare and other insurance details
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including but not limited to bed making, laundry, vacuuming, etc.
- Assist patients in completing personal hygiene tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, shaving, etc.
- Maintain psychological and emotional support for patients and family members - provide quality companionship
- Ambulate patients as indicated in the care plan, and help patients complete exercises and physical therapy as needed
- Pass a full employment background check, drug test, and physical, and possess current CPR certification and first aid training
- Must have 1-3 years of experience as a personal caregiver, HHA/ home health aide, nursing assistant, or personal care aid for a home health agency at patient homes or care facilities setting
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is highly valuable- approved home health aide training programs from community colleges are accepted
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are valuable, as is a compassionate, empathetic, and kind personality
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, you may be required to stoop, bend, reach, and transfer patients up to 250 lbs as needed
- You must be authorized to work in the United States and live within commuting distance of West Orange, NJ to be considered for this position.
