SUMMARY

The intern will work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams, participating in on-site visits, contributing to project documentation, and engaging in research to enhance their understanding of construction processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Support: Assist project managers in planning, organizing, and coordinating construction projects.
2. Site Visits: Participate in on-site visits to gain practical insights into construction processes and safety protocols.
3. Documentation: Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, and budgets.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure project success.
5. Research: Conduct research on industry best practices, materials, and technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
6. Problem Solving: Engage in creative problem-solving to address challenges that may arise during the construction process.
7. Learning and Development: Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge of construction management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, etc.).
• Strong interest in construction and a desire to pursue a career in the industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (preferred).

EDUCATION

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Construction Intern will be exposed to a dynamic work environment that includes both office and on-site settings. The intern may be required to visit construction sites, where exposure to varying weather conditions and construction-related hazards may occur. The office environment will involve regular use of computers and communication tools.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position may require the intern to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift and carry light to moderate loads. Construction site visits may involve navigating uneven terrain and climbing stairs or ladders. The intern should be physically capable of meeting these demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
