Statement of Purpose:
The Team Lead position provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the local Education & Prevention Team. The role requires a high level of knowledge and skills for the provision of HIV/STI testing, education, and outreach. This position provides direct support to the HIV Prevention Program Manager, and reports directly to the HIV Prevention Program Manager.
Primary Tasks: HIV Prevention Team Lead
- Responsible for performing and assisting in the oversight of the local Prevention Team's daily activities and operations including the provision of HIV/STI testing, community outreach, and PrEP client navigation services.
- Serves as a key point of contact for the clinical/medical team and other internal stakeholders regarding Prevention services, processes, and programming at the local level, in conjunction with the HIV Prevention Program Manager.
- Provides training to new staff, interns, and volunteers on all functions of Prevention operations and facilitates the provision of continuing education opportunities.
- Attends departmental leadership meetings and assists in the implementation of new policies, procedures, and directives.
- Collaborates with other disciplines internally and externally to coordinate client/patient services and community needs.
- Ensures client confidentiality 100% of the time by conforming to HIPAA laws and CAN Community Health Policies and Procedures.
- Assists in the management of the mobile sprinter unit, as applicable. This includes driving/operation, documentation, vehicle maintenance, safety, etc.
- Directly responsible for developing new community partnerships through the establishment of BRTA/FRTA agreements, other informal agreements, as well as formal agreements, including Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding and Business Associate Agreements under the supervision of the HIV Prevention Program Manager.
- Establishes and maintains a calendar of community-based outreach and HIV testing events. Oversees the execution of these events to ensure quality outcomes and successful implementation.
- Provides direct support and assistance to the Prevention Program Manager in the preparation and completion of reports for grants and/or other program requirements.
Secondary Tasks: HIV Prevention Team Lead
- Participates in professional training and education to advance skills/knowledge of HIV/STIs/Hepatitis C.
- Maintains required certifications for the provision of services including but not limited to testing, as required by state/local health department.
- Represents CAN Community Health at local, state, and national conferences and meetings, as deemed necessary.
- Ensure HIV home test kits are prepared for distribution and that appropriate forms and platforms are being utilized to provide HIPAA compliant support to clients participating in the tele-testing program. Assists in the distribution of the HIV home test kits as needed.
- Supports online health education efforts by staff through the use of dating geolocation applications for CAN's virtual outreach program. Assists in the provision of online health education as needed.
- Responsible for the procurement of HIV/STI testing supplies, condoms, educational materials, etc.
- Alongside the Prevention Program Manager, participates in community and partnership meetings to facilitate the growth and expansion of CAN Community Health's efforts and programming within the territory.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives and other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of community health services and agencies.
- Working knowledge Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word.
- Demonstrates appropriate organizational skills.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize activities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA compliance and ensures that it is maintained at all times by self and team.
- Knowledge of CDC effective behavioral interventions and motivational interviewing.
- Experience with development and implementation of HIV Prevention procedures.
- Demonstrates experience with HIV/STI Prevention strategies, Ryan White, CDC, state and/or federal regulatory bodies, documentation, and compliance.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours on a regular basis, including nights and weekends.
Requirements:
Education/Professional: HIV Prevention Team Lead
- Associates or bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field, relevant college-level coursework may substitute for experience

Physical Requirements: HIV Prevention Team Lead
- Neat professional appearance
