Histology Technician at Cypress HCM

Job Description:

• Perform tissue sample sectioning for microscopic examination using a microtome.
• Re-embed tissue blocks as necessary.
• Operate and utilize automated slide stainers for efficient slide preparation.
• Conduct Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) of tissue samples on slides under the supervision of a pathologist.
• Perform macro-dissection (tissue scraping) on slides as required.
• Accurately label specimens and verify sample identifiers against source documents to ensure proper identification.
• Conduct daily inventory checks and maintenance activities within the histology department.
• Troubleshoot general issues, such as missing or conflicting sample identifiers.
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support laboratory operations, ensuring documentation aligns with state, CLIA, and CAP compliance requirements.
• Operate Laboratory Information System (LIS) software to facilitate various laboratory workflows.
