Inova Central Laboratory is looking for a dedicated Histology Technician 3 (HT) to join their team! This role will be Full-Time Night Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 8pm - 4:30am

Job Responsibilities
- Embeds 45 – 50 quality cassettes per hour.
- Resolves problems and/or communicates unresolved problems to the staff/management.
- Maintains optimal technical quality in the preparation of specimens for cell blocks and staining of slides.
- Successfully completes specific job related continuing education units, annually, outside of mandatory HealthStream courses..
- Demonstrates depth and breadth of knowledge with expertise in routine embedding and embedding difficult/tiny tissue orientation.
- Organizes periodic quality assurance materials for pathology peer review, in a timely manner, according to established procedures.
- Communicates STAT cases/discrepancies and assists with continuous workflow by providing work to the table to be cut and per standard operating procedures.
- Correctly positions blocks in the microtome and rough face to the appropriate depth to ensure the section on the slide is of the entire tissue surface.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Work Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 8pm - 4:30am
- Minimum Education:- Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the last five years prior to the date of application for examination. OR
- 60 semester hours of academic credit from an accredited university with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the associate degree

- Years of Experience: 4 years of experience required
- Certification: Histotechnician (HT); Histotechnologist (HTL ASCP) certification
