HIM Clerk - AHMC Healthcare

Health Information Management Clerk works with the medical record to ensure complete, accurate and timely completion of the medical record.  The HIM Clerk also release protected health information in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.  The HIM Clerk position is a customer service position.  

The HIM Clerk runs reports, picks up discharged accounts and ensures received, assembles preps, scans, and quality checks medical records.  The HIM Clerk reviews medical records for completeness, releases protected health information in accordance with State/Federal laws and regulations, reads and responds to emails, answers phone lines and makes calls, uses fax machine, provides customer service, and uses electronic system for HIM functions.  The HIM Clerk also performs other task within the HIM department as needed by the department.

High school diploma or equivalent, enrollment in Health Information Technology program preferred.  Minimum of two years HIM (Medical Record) experience preferred.  Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) preferred.  Medical terminology; ability to pass departmental skills testing exam.
