We are expanding our team and seek a HIL Systems Technical Specialist who will:
- Design, develop, and commission Automated Test Equipment (ATE), including End-of-Line (EoL) Testers, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Systems, Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems, and other testing and automation systems.
- Provide upgrades and enhancements of ATE as needed to ensure optimal performance and alignment with evolving requirements.
- Design, develop, and commission proof-of-concept systems utilizing off-the-shelf equipment.
- Provide thought leadership and best practice approaches to the deployment and management of a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test environment
- Assisting in developing processes, procedures, and related documentation for the smooth operation of the projects
- Participate in meetings, projecting an image of professionalism, capability, and competence
- Analyze requirements and designing documents and business objectives to prioritize test activities for each iteration
- Support the architecture, design, and integration of HIL benches
- Confirm that new software features integrate with control system to meet functionality requirements
- Develop tests to ensure quality, functionality, and safety of software using manual and automated test platforms
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test scripts
- Ensure process compliance and configuration management
- Assist in the use of data management design, utilization measurement, and other tasks as identified to support the successful launch and integration of a HIL
- Effectively measure test coverage across various levels of product requirement validation and product variants
- Ensure traceability of test procedures and test results to requirements and product variants
- Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance performance
- Perform root cause analysis, error correction, functional, and risk analysis of system level problems (5 why’s, fishbone, etc.)
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Participate in Test Readiness Reviews
- Perform data analysis and generate test reports
- Perform new functionality, regression, and verification testing on test bench/HIL/vehicle
- Provide technical support, guidance, and collaboration for all software/ hardware implementation for development, test, performance and testing environments
- Apply quality assurance techniques to the work
- Compile data and defining changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing, or overhaul processes for current and new products
- Contribute to delivering innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs
- Coordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
- Provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical features are considered and functioning properly
- Aid in the development team for scheduling and maintaining the resources needed to perform automated testing
- Represent the test team in multi-focused team meetings
- Utilize varying test environments to analyze and verify the system behavior
- Work in cross-functional teams across the organization to architect, implement, and troubleshoot complex solutions

A successful candidate for this position will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a test environment, including designing and commissioning ATE and HIL benches
- Understanding of embedded control systems and operating environment
- MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW/TestStand/VeriStand, and/or dSPACE environments experience
- HIL systems experience (National Instruments or dSPACE – ALIARO experience is nice to have)
- Experience specifying, designing, commissioning Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and/or HIL systems
- Familiarity with scripting and automation
- Sufficient familiarity with the C programming language to read and interpret source code, understand the intent of operations, and follow program logic, including variables, control structures, functions, and pointer usage.
- Familiarity with basic circuit design principles, including signal conditioning, loading effects, and their application in test systems. Ability to interpret schematics, understand component interactions, and ensure signal integrity for accurate data acquisition and system performance.
- Use of standard electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, logic analyzers
