- Refrigeration- Must be familiar with ammonia systems used for refrigeration
The Maintenance Supervisor must be able to effectively direct the maintenance personnel whom repair and maintain mechanical, air, electrical and hydraulic components of various equipment. This may consist of processing, blow molding, filling and material handling equipment, following blueprints, wiring diagrams and using hand tools, power tools, welders and precision measuring instruments.
The successful applicant must be able to properly supervise the maintenance personnel by visually inspecting and listening to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. S/he will be able to direct personnel to dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to the problem area, using hand tools and power tools. Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Remove and replace worn or defective parts of the drive mechanisms or hydraulic systems, using handheld tools and power tools, follow blueprints, diagram, and device manuals. In addition s/he must be able to perform these tasks on their own. S/he will also be able to direct personnel who re-align and adjust components, such as spindles and clutches, using hand tools and following diagrams. Must be able to locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machines, and measure, cut, thread, and install new pipe, in addition, s/he must be able to complete these functions themselves. S/he will also be able to start machines and equipment to test operation following a repair, repair broken parts, use brazing, soldering and welding equipment and hand tools. S/he may modify computer- controlled functions on various equipment.
The successful applicant must be able to work in both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (20 degrees below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time. S/he must be able to bend, crawl, climb, squat and at times lift both arms above the head, and at ground level for extended periods of time, during repair and maintenance operations. In addition, s/he must maintain a safe and clean work area, working in a safe and efficient manner.
S/he will be required to work with and understand boilers, refrigeration, hydraulic, air, electrical, and other systems in the plant.
S/he must be able to give both written and verbal instructions effectively. Follow blueprints, wiring diagrams and service manuals and be able to complete written reports. You must have strong computer skills, and should have knowledge of CMMS and be familiar with the program "Express Maintenance."
The successful applicant must possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively direct the maintenance employees.
