Highway Maintenance Worker II - Medium Equipment Operator (61033871) - State of South Carolina

Position is located at Holly Hill Maintenance. Repairs potholes and base surface failures of roadway using hand tools such as shovel, pick, rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Operates medium equipment such as tandem dump truck in a variety of activities associated with construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges in the state highway system. Performs skilled manual labor in maintenance tasks such as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches and repairing shoulders. Picks up litter, debris and dead animals. Operates heavier equipment such as front-end loaders and backhoes. Coordinates placement of traffic control devices to properly set up work zone according to the Traffic Control Manual. Performs duties during inclement weather. Performs other related duties as assigned.
