GET TO KNOW THE ROLE
- Location: Based in West Fargo, ND, with travel to worksites across Cass County.
- Schedule: Full-time, four 10-hour days from spring to fall, with on-call emergency duties on weekends or holidays as needed.
As a Highway Heavy Equipment Operator, you start your day inspecting and operating equipment such as motor graders, loaders, tandem axle trucks, and skid steers. You might repair roads and bridges, mow ditches, or clear snow to ensure roadways are safe and functional for residents. Maintenance tasks keep your equipment in top shape, and you work alongside a dedicated team in an outdoor, hands-on role. Emergency calls occasionally bring you out on weekends or holidays to handle weather-related challenges.
The Minimum Requirements to Be Considered:
- 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid Class A CDL
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
- Residence within 30 minutes of West Fargo for emergency response needs
Preferred Qualifications: Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, plus experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
