Client - Major Financial Firm
Role - Hedge Fund Accountant / Fixed Income Derivatives
Rate - DOE
Duration - 6-12 Month Assignment (possible extension)
Location - Long Island City Queens NYC (5-10 Minutes away from Midtown NYC)
The role will be responsible for internal management financial reporting of actual results and supporting the regulatory and financial disclosure functions of the bank and Client's Corporate Treasury business activities, including (but not limited to):
- Hedge activities mitigating risks associated with: investing in various securities held for sale; funding activities (long term debt); investments in overseas subsidiaries
and related foreign exchange risks; and cash flow hedges of various asset classes
- Performing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and journal entries
- Preparing support packages for audit requests
- Reporting and analysis relating to cash and securities collateral pledged or received
- Net Investment Hedge exposure reporting and analysis
- Proper documentation of assigned hedge program relationships
- Periodic assessment of hedge effectiveness utilizing various regression models and interpreting those results for decision makers
- Working with various IT and operational departments in effecting the control department's re-engineering.
- Preparing and distributing daily derivative related reports to various interested parties. The person filing this role may be expected to interact with various departments while prioritizing and completing multiple concurrent responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial services
- Working knowledge of fixed income debt securities and derivatives and their markets.
- Working knowledge of Summit
- Ability to independently manage work across initiatives, exhibiting a high degree of flexibility in meeting various responsibilities
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong technical desktop skills including advanced Microsoft Excel
