WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES
This position is based in West Fargo, ND, where you will travel to various sites across Cass County. You will work four 10-hour days from spring to fall, with occasional on-call duties during evenings, weekends, or holidays for emergency responses.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you start your day behind the controls of heavy machinery like motor graders, loaders, and snowplows. Whether you're repairing roads, clearing snow, or mowing ditches, your work keeps Cass County running smoothly. You'll inspect and maintain equipment to keep it in peak condition, tackle manual tasks like bridge repairs, and step up when emergencies call for swift action. It's hands-on, outdoor work that makes a real difference every day.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid Class A CDL
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
- Residence within 30 minutes of West Fargo for emergency response needs
