- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, scrapers, motor graders and compactors.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, maps, blueprints, and drawings to execute site plans accurately.
- Utilize grade control devices to achieve precise tolerances.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during excavation, trenching, and equipment operation.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks and address maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members for task coordination.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Assist pipe layers, laborers, and truck drivers when equipment operation is not required.
- Required:
- 5+ years of experience in excavator operation and earthwork.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, lift up to 70 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Preferred:
- OSHA-10 certification.
- Trench Safety Competent Person certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
