About the Job
We're seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of heavy equipment, including rock drills, excavators, skid steers, lifts, concrete pumps, some proprietary equipment and other types of heavy construction equipment.

This travelling position is based in Grand Junction, Colorado and requires significant travel. The typical travel rotation is Monday-Friday, with overtime/weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy duty machines or mechanical components according to requirements and OEM sop’s
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability and safe operations
- Correctly and efficiently troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, gearboxes, and communication software
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, welding, etc.)
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
Basic Qualifications
- Valid Driver's license required
- Experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment
- The ability to travel up to 100% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy construction equipment and repair experience
- Experience working on railway equipment
- 5+ years of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting experience
- CDL Driver's license strongly preferred
- Licensing/certification as a mechanic
Location: Grand Junction, CO
Compensation: $25/hr to $35/hr
