We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced Heavy Civil Utility/Pipe Construction Superintendent to join our team. This role is a key leadership position within our construction team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of heavy civil utility and pipe construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy/civil construction, project engineering, and site management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of projects, from municipalities to CDOT, and to contribute to the success of our growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions, including scheduling, material control, and day-to-day direction of field personnel.
- Ensure that all construction activities are in compliance with design specifications, project plans, and building codes.
- Oversee subcontractor management, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to OSHA 30 Hour regulations and other construction safety standards.
- Coordinate with Project Engineer and Assistant Superintendent to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
- Manage project budget, including forecasting costs, tracking actual expenses, and providing regular financial reports to senior management.
- Liaise with municipalities and other regulatory bodies as necessary, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Lead project meetings, providing regular updates on project status, potential issues, and proposed solutions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry, specifically with heavy/civil projects.
- Proven experience as a Superintendent, Project Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards; OSHA 30 Hour certification a plus
- Familiarity with CDOT and municipalities projects, regulations, and codes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively.
- Superior site management and subcontractor management skills.
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
