We are on the hunt for a dynamic, experienced and dedicated Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our growing team in the construction industry. This full-time position requires a deep understanding of heavy civil construction, with a specific focus on utilities, public work, underground, excavation, shoring, trenching, traffic control, DOT, sewer, and construction. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record of successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
As the Heavy Civil Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects, ensuring each project is completed in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities for heavy civil projects.
2. Coordinating and supervising the work of all site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
3. Ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
4. Developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
5. Implementing and enforcing our company’s safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for everyone on the job site.
6. Managing the logistics of traffic control and DOT requirements.
7. Overseeing the excavation, shoring, and trenching processes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and safely.
8. Coordinating and supervising the installation of public utilities and sewer systems.
9. Conducting regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met and identifying any potential issues or delays.
10. Communicating effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in the heavy civil construction industry.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience in utilities, public work, underground, excavation, shoring, trenching, traffic control, DOT, sewer, and construction.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. A strong commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
8. Proficient in using construction management software and technology.
9. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
10. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
