Our client specializes in large-scale transportation projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to join their team in Miami, FL.
Position Overview:
The Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent will lead daily operations on complex heavy civil transportation projects, ensuring successful execution from groundbreaking to completion. This position is essential for maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on projects with budgets of $15 million or more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of large-scale heavy civil transportation projects.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure schedules, budgets, and milestones are met.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality control, and FDOT specifications.
- Lead site operations, addressing challenges and implementing solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Foster strong relationships with project stakeholders, including FDOT representatives and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to leadership teams.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil transportation projects.
- Proven experience managing FDOT projects (strongly preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Experience delivering projects on time and within budget, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
