Heavy Civil Construction Foreman - Hughes General Contractors

Hughes General Contractors is actively seeking an experienced, motivated, and strong leader for a Heavy Civil Foreman/Superintendent role. This is a very hands on position in which you will oversee and work side by side with a crew of heavy equipment operators and laborers.

What your day will look like:

• Supervise all field operations with a very hands on approach
• Determine sequence and coordinate all activities for a heavy civil crew

• Excellent ability to operate all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.
• Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work.
• Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices.
• Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
• Lays out floor-plan/worksite as needed.
• Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Shoot grades with level and with some knowledge of GPS
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Perform other assignments as assigned

What we'll need from you:

• A minimum of 5 years of supervising / crew leadership experience
• A minimum of 3 years of experience of heavy civil construction
• A minimum of 5 year of operating large heavy equipment experience
• Strong understating of safely
• Be able to carry 70 lbs. or more repetitively
• Physically able to bend, climb, twist, balance, stoop, etc.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
