Heat Treat Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturer at Activ8

An Automotive Parts Manufacturing company is currently searching for a Heat Treat Engineer to join their facility northwest of Indianapolis.

Heat Treat Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining and improving the process/programs of the heat treatment of components
• Testing and modifying existing systems
• PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Design/review tooling
• Repairing induction heat treat coil
• Continuous improvement by developing new processes and equipment
• Perform tests on machinery to ensure quality and performance standard compliance
• Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Heat Treat Engineer Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/related field
• 1-3 year’s induction heat treatment experience in manufacturing
• Knowledge of mechanical in automotive or machining environments
• MS Office and CAD systems ability
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and adapt to pressure
• Ability to collaborate with other departments and colleagues
• Able to communicate fluently in verbal English
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide timely incident resolution.

This position includes a manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
