Job Summary and Qualifications
The Intake/Office Coordinator assists in patient care and provides support for the providers within the Heart Transplant and VAD program.
What you will do in this role:
- Able to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
- Performs vital signs and take information on patients
- Performs tasks that involve the exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
- Performs selected administrative duties and assists nursing staff.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Gives injections, draws blood and applies dressings, as applicable.
- Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures.
- Notifies the Clinical Supervisor or Office Coordinator when clinical and/or office supplies need replenishing.
- Assist in maintain patient files, records, and other information to contribute to accurate data gathering.
- Attends meetings
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Responsible for creating an Excellence Always culture as it pertains to patients, families, physicians and peers.
- Follows through on patients’ needs through coordination of services.
What qualifications you will need:
- Certified Medical Assistant Required
- Adult Clinic care experience at least 1 year, cardiovascular or transplant experience preferred
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider

We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
