Summary
Job Summary: Through internships and other work-based learning experiences at Alameda Health System’s (AHS) network of hospitals and Wellness Centers, HealthPATH exposes young people to a breadth of workplace experiences and helps put them on a course to educational and career success. HealthPATH is cultivating AHS’s future workforce—one that reflects the communities we serve and delivers culturally competent care. The goal of this internship is to provide valuable work experience within the healthcare field through administrative tasks, observation/shadowing, networking and hands-on experience. Interns will gain exposure to the healthcare industry as well as an understanding of the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful professional. Through this internship, interns will hone their leadership skills, critical thinking skills and communication skills.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. May develop or assist in the development of project plans of various departmental initiatives and/or programs.
2. May monitor data and perform routine analysis.
3. May perform outreach to the community, educational and other organizations to build awareness of a new AHS program(s), to build partnerships with these organizations for a mutually beneficial outcome, and/or to recruit volunteers.
4. Perform specialized analysis of various projects to assist the assigned department in enhancing clinical and business objectives.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
_Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying._
Education: Be enrolled in an undergraduate program (community college or 4-year college/university), post-baccalaureate program or have graduated from undergraduate college in the past year.
GPA Requirement 2.5

+ Duration: June 9, 2025 – August 1, 2025
+ Days: Mondays – Fridays
+ Time: 8am or 9am start
+ Location: Wilma Chan Highland Hospital Campus or AHS facility within Oakland or San Leandro
+ Compensation: $21/hour
+ Application Deadline: Friday, February 7th
