- Participate in medical planning client user group and design team meetings / workshops.
- Participate in healthcare programming client user group and design team meetings / workshops.
- Collaborate with design team in blocking and stacking design meetings & workshops.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team and perform creative design layouts and detailing on architectural projects.
- Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through multiple phases of a design project.
- Establish owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Initiate and create designs and plans of projects with responsibility for preparation of presentation and design drawings.
- Develop concept ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building program, and environmental impact.
- Coordinate the workload of team members through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule.
- Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Perform QA/QC and technical reviews.
- Write and edit architectural specifications.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders.
- Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
- Provide construction contract administration as needed.
- Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Make onsite visits to check on project status and report findings.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and initiatives contributing to the success of the firm as needed.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field.
- 7+ years of architecture design experience within healthcare/hospital design. Experience as part of a team rather than leading/running a project is acceptable.
- Registered Architect.
- Experience with Client Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
- Experience in the preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our collaborative and equitable company culture.
- Medical planning experience
- Healthcare programming, blocking & stacking experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
- Experience in the areas of healthcare facilities.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED (desired but not required).
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3-D Studio Max (not required).
- Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper.
