Team profile

Hayfin’s specialist healthcare team is comprised of investment professionals in London and New York with healthcare finance backgrounds. The team has a transatlantic focus and is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities across healthcare subsectors, including pharma, biotech, healthcare services & IT, medical devices, and diagnostics.

Role description

This role forms part of our summer internship programme. This role will offer you the opportunity to be part of a global, international team located across London & New York. You will work closely with a member of the team during your placement.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the deal team’s due diligence process for live investment opportunities with business, industry, and financial analysis.
• Creating materials and investment memoranda to be shared with the internal Hayfin healthcare team and senior members of the firm’s investment committee.
• Screening healthcare company databases and conference attendee lists to support the team’s deal sourcing effort and investment identification process.
• Supporting portfolio monitoring efforts with industry analysis and market research.

Requirements

Skills/capabilities

We’re looking for someone who:

• Demonstrates an outstanding academic background. You will be proactive, able to work on your own undertaking research across a range of topics, produce a summary of your research and present this to parties across the team/wider organisation.
• Current undergraduate studying finance, healthcare management, economics, or a healthcare / life sciences discipline.
• Prior coursework or experience in finance, accounting, and/or the healthcare industry desirable but not essential.
• Has a proven track record of using MS Office products, especially modelling in MS Excel.
• Communicates fluently in English, both verbally and written.
