Job Description- Provides for cursory and complete medical examinations including all PRH requirements.
- When indicated, provides for optometrist/ ophthalmologist evaluation and glasses meeting ANSI standards.
- Provides for immunization program in accordance with CDC guidelines and as directed by the National Director of job Corps.
- Provides daily walk-in services for routine care and an appointment system for follow up.
- Provides for patient assessment, triage, and treatment.
- Provides for emergency care including first aid, CPR, and coordination of emergency services on and off Center.
- Assures 24 hour emergency care with written arrangements for local community facilities to provide medical, dental, mental health and inpatient care.
- Utilizes community resources for staff and student training on various Wellness issues, self-care and treatment.
- Provides for off center specialist referral system.
- Assures provision of TEAP program inclusive of assessment, intervention, counseling, relapse prevention, and prevention education exercises.
- Coordinates health aspects of sports activities with the Recreation Department to assure compliance with PRH requirements.
- Assures provision of Reproductive Health Program inclusive of Pregnancy Prevention, Family Planning, Sexuality, and Sexual Assault Programs.
- Assures availability of weight control counseling, monitoring and support through Weight Improvement Program.
- Provides management for seropositive students assuring compliance with all PRH requirements.
- Assures program compliance with Americans for Disabilities Act (ADA reasonable recommendations.
- Assures health service staffing is in compliance with required staffing levels and qualifications.
- Assures all health staff complies with professional standards of care subject to State laws and provisions of their licensure.
- Provides for medication management including ordering, storage, administration, and record keeping for immunizations, prescription, stock medication, and controlled substances.

- Implements, executes and monitors orientation for health services.
- Acts as resource liaison for Wellness class and Health Occupations Program.
- Acts as liaison to the Center Director and Management Team on health related issues.
- Develops, facilitates and monitors quality assurance programs such as staff meetings, record audits, performance, data, and external reviews.
- Coordinates with other Directors, Managers and Supervisors to ensure an effective interface with all center departments.
- Assures completion and submission of all Health Service Reports.
- Directs and monitors Health Services expenditures to comply with established contract and budget.
- Oversees purchase, use, maintenance and disposal of supplies and equipment in Health Services.
- Complies with guidelines for Major Medical Reimbursement.
- Assures medical records are maintained and in compliance with PRH requirements and Nurse Practice Act.
- Provides for on call services to handle emergency care.
- Implements, directs and monitors infection control measures in Health Services and assists with monitoring center wide infection control.
- Complies with OSHA requirements.
- Provides for written standing orders on department and procedures for health care.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. One or two years of related experience or training are required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from a four-year college or university and related supervisory experience. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the nursing field, preferably in a supervisory or manager role.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current State Professional Nurse License; Current BLS/CPR certification. Valid State Driver’s License.
