**Position Description:**
Under broad guidance from the Director and with significant latitude for judgment, the **Program Manager** will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Department of Emergency Medicine Injury Prevention program known as the Injury Free Coalition for Kids (IFCK). The manager will direct the planning, development, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of all aspects of this program focused on increasing awareness about childhood injury prevention. This individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as the individual serves as the primary face of the program to all external agencies and interfaces with others at different levels of training to achieve the required work. High level skills are required in organization, management, and problem solving as well as initiative and independent thinking.
**Specific responsibilities include:**
+ Manage all programs including development, promotion, execution, and evaluation of each program. Create new opportunities for each program to promote awareness and coordinate all external events including evaluations and analysis. Injury prevention programs/topics include car seat education, car seat distribution, managing the car seat loaner program, pedestrian safety, bike safety, home safety, safe sleep and poison prevention. Supervise external program staff and volunteers as needed. 50%
+ Serve as primary contact/liaison for national, state and local community organizations and boards as well as URMC advisory boards. This includes the IFCK national program office, Healthi Kids Coalition, Play Roc committee, Drive2Bbetter committee, Baby Safe Sleep Coalition and the Rochester Healthy Home Partnership. 15%
+ Marketing - Develop marketing, advertising and collateral material for each program. Create opportunities within the community to promote each program. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders who embody the vision of the University to improve and increase community partnerships. 15%
+ Grant Management - coordinate/manage all aspect of grant development for the Injury Free Coalition for Kids within the Department of Emergency Medicine, including writing and maintaining support sections and developing budgets for the grant. Manage all ledger 5 and gift accounts to meet requirements and maintain monthly financials as well as reconcile ledgers. Prepare and submit all reports and documentation as required by each grant. 15%
+ Identify funding opportunities for the Department of Emergency Medicine Injury Free Coalition for Kids. Provide professional direction in identifying these funding opportunities for injury prevention and coordinate community partners/stakeholders and staff to apply for funding opportunities. 5%
**Requirements** :
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or technical field and 2-3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing programs is strongly preferred but not required.
