GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Health Project Coordinator - Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (ECMHC) is responsible for coordinating with and providing educators, staff, and families in local early childhood educational settings with behavioral/mental health consultation to prevent and address young children’s behavioral and mental health problems and reduce the impact of disparities. The Health Project Coordinator ECMHC provides a broad range of services, including early childhood mental health consultation in classrooms; training staff; screening, assessment, and referrals. The ECMHC also collects data, maintains records, and supports program implementation.
Additionally, the position supports the mission, values, and strategic direction of Children’s Institute (CI) through promoting racial and social justice; honoring and valuing children; transforming with an engaged presence; establishing essential partnerships; implementing research-based practice; and the ethical, responsible stewardship of resources for the benefit of children.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Completes general program project coordination duties including organizing meetings, coordinating communication and correspondence with early childhood education providers, monitoring project activities, contributing information to proposals and reports as required.
+ Provides child-focused behavioral and mental health consultation and training to support early childhood education settings on three levels: 1) program 2) provider/staff, and 3) child/family.
+ Conducts observations and assessments of classrooms and individual children; collects data and maintains records.
+ Collaborates with staff, parents and caregivers, and facilitates individualized child and family referrals to special education and other community services as necessary.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or technical field required
+ Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, or related field preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children and families or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Knowledge of child development, child psychopathology, developmental disabilities, system theory, attachment theory, trauma, mental health evidence-based practices, including behavioral interventions required. A combination of some but not all of these may be acceptable upon assessment of candidates’ experience and education required.
+ Ability to approach work with a nonjudgmental attitude, flexible, empathic, good listener, and respectful and sensitive of cultural differences required.
+ Ability to work in collaboration with families and early childhood education and childcare centers’ staff required.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills required
+ Experience with Microsoft 365, Zoom required
+ Driver license and reliable transportation required
+ Certification/licensure in education or mental health field preferred.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $ 41,746 - $ 56,347 Annually
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
