Our client, a busy and growing Health & Welfare Fund Union located in Lombard, IL, is looking to hire experiences Member Service Representatives with health insurance benefits experience.
These are full-time, temp-to-hire positions working M - F (8:00am to 5:00pm). Training will be on site for the first 3-6 months before moving to a hybrid schedule of 2 days in office & 3 days at home. Our client offers superior benefits upon conversion to their payroll, which contributes to their staff having an average longevity of over 15 years!

Job Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for answering about 50 incoming calls per day from members and assisting them with health insurance, and union benefit inquiries, determining eligibility, enrolling eligible members into health plans, providing members with their claim statuses, performing accurate data entry, providing members with medical, hospital, prescription, and dental benefit information.
- 90% of your work day will be on the phone assisting members with inquiries.
- Documenting call information accurately and appropriately in ISSI.
- Accurately identifying callers’ needs, conducting research, and assisting with issue resolution, clear communication, and professionalism.
- Multi-tasking with numerous customer service computer screens.
Job Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- You must have at least 1+ years of recent medical insurance, benefits, or claims customer service work experience preferably working within a call center environment.
- Excellent customer service skills, professional telephone etiquette and empathy.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective problem resolution skills and commitment to solving member benefits issues.
- Good analytical and organizational skills and independent decision-making skills.
- You must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able to multi-task.
- Recent ISSI Software experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Data entry and/or typing experience, at least 35 WPM with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to spend approximately 90% of your work day on the phone.
