Clinical Data Coordinator

The Clinical Data Coordinator will participate in the recruitment and orientation of Clinical Data Services staff, recommends hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations as appropriate. Some of the duties also includes initiating regular contact or networking with employees, physicians, and other professionals not employed by the hospital on similar projects, benchmarking, etc in accordance with hospital strategies. Direct and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.
In this role you will also coordinate activities focused on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of clinical data, as well as its compliance with regulatory standards and hospital revenue initiatives. Provide expertise in the areas of coding and classification systems to healthcare providers throughout our hospital, and help drive improvements in documentation, reimbursement and the revenue cycle. Perform chart, internal/external coding and APG reviews to ensure compliance with established coding principles and documentation guidelines. Orientation includes on site presence.
Preferred Criteria
· 5 years of Health Information Management/Medical Records experience in an academic medical center environment
· Prior experience as a DRG Coordinator
· Experience with 3M
· RHIA or RHIT certification
Required Criteria
· 3 years of Inpatient coding experience
· 2 years demonstrated coding experience required with focus on complex case mix
· CCS certification from AHIMA
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
· Strong interpersonal and coder education expertise skills are essential to succeed

Salary Range:
$94,500-$143,500/Annual
