The Position
The HCP / KOL Associate will support in shaping an insights-driven HCP marketing strategy and KOL engagement strategy, assisting in omnichannel execution, and measuring marketing effectiveness. They will support development of the brand messages, core story and key peer to peer content to support market education across specialties. They will support in seeking to find a competitive edge and differentiation in NNI HCP/KOL strategies, setting high standards, and establishing/ maintaining a proactive market leadership position. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills within pharmaceutical marketing as well as gain valuable experience developing HCP marketing strategies and engaging with KOLs.
Relationships
Reports to HCP / KOL Strategy Lead. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, medical affairs, market access and policy/advocacy (MAPA), Centers of Excellence (COEs), regulatory affairs, other relevant NNI departments, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of customer and brand/therapy area objectives and strategies, effective execution of HCP experience strategies, KOL engagements, and transparent communications outside the department.
Essential Functions
- Brand Objectives: Supports development of the pre-launch / launch HCP-related brand/therapy area strategic objectives, HCP activation and experience strategy (inclusive of patient advocacy/patient services), including prioritization of HCP needs & opportunities across TAs, and HCP segmentation
- HCP Journey Mapping: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to conduct in-depth analysis and mapping of HCP journeys, identifying key touchpoints, and opportunities for enhancing the HCP experience throughout the treatment lifecycle
- Target Segment Identification: Utilize market research and data analysis to identify and define specific HCP segments. Develop targeted strategies to address the unique needs, preferences, and challenges of each segment
- Omnichannel Experience Strategy: Translate brand/therapy area objectives to develop innovative, insights-driven HCP omnichannel branded and TA unbranded market development strategy to support brand/therapy area development and HCP activation efforts. Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to uncover insights into HCP needs, preferences, and behaviors and translating them into a comprehensive HCP engagement plan – effectively integrating across multiple tactics and channels. Ensures alignment of brand/therapy area positioning, messaging and overall objectives
- KOL Engagement and Early Market Education: Support design and execution of KOL engagement strategies to build advocacy and support for the upcoming launch. Lead early market education initiatives to prime the market and generate brand/therapy area awareness among HCPs
- HCP/KOL Interaction and Communication: Assist HCP/KOL Strategist in facilitating scientific communication between internal stakeholders and KOLs to ensure a mutual understanding of NNI products, pipeline, and emerging healthcare trends
- Learning Event Coordination: Coordinate participation in scientific conferences, symposia, and other relevant events to enhance visibility, brand/therapy area knowledge, and engagement with KOLs
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of HCP experience strategies. Regularly analyze and report on the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
- Continued Improvement: Ensure pull-through of ‘test and learn’ principles by consulting with executional teams to drive optimal performance. Identifies and implements improvements to prepare for launch, development, and/or life cycle activities. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and makes plan adjustments for optimal brand/therapy area performance
Physical Requirements
Approximately 30% overnight travel is required. The incumbent can work remotely anywhere in the United States with reasonable access to an airport.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may be substituted for degree
- 5+ years of experience including brand management/marketing experience, life science or related field
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or life science industry preferred
- HCP marketing experience in developing HCP marketing strategy, KOL engagement, campaign development through promotional asset execution, or driving impactful HCP experiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization and outside agencies
- Knowledge of HCP and KOL engagement channels and regulatory considerations
- Successful launch experience in a marketing role preferred
- Data-driven mindset with ability to interpret data and draw insights
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with marketing tools and software
The base compensation range for this position is $120K to $160K. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and/or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
