Head Varsity Volleyball Coach
Stipend Rage: $5,500 - $6,750
Job Summary
This position is responsible for organizing the volleyball program at Carondelet High School. This position requires a passionate leader who can inspire student-athletes to achieve their highest potential on and off the field. The head coach will oversee all aspects of the program, including practices, game strategy, student-athlete development, and program administration. Candidates must possess strong coaching experience, a commitment to sportsmanship and character development, and the ability to foster a positive team culture. The head coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations of Carondelet High School, the East Bay Athletic League, and the North Coast Section.

Responsibilities
Embrace and support the mission of Carondelet High School.

Emphasize the importance of academic excellence and assist in monitoring and maintaining high academic standards for members of the volleyball program.
Become actively involved with the college recruiting process for team members.
Make recommendations to the Director of Athletics and principal in hiring and/or retaining assistant coaches and sub-varsity head coaches.
Oversees the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen teams and staff members.
Organize and conduct practices and competitions for the Carondelet volleyball program.
Follows and maintains knowledge of school policies and procedures relevant to the position.
Instructs and demonstrates the skills and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
Develop and coordinate a competitive volleyball program by working closely with athletes on skill development, conditioning, teamwork, and leadership.
Ensures a certified coach is present at all practices and contests.
Ensures that proper storage, maintenance, and inventory of all athletics equipment and uniforms is adhered to.
Adheres to all financial policies of the school, in regards to collection and disbursement of money, expenses and receipts.
Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
Maintains a safe environment, including facilities, for student-athletes at all times.
Manages field care and maintenance of the facility.
Ensures that medical and safety procedures are followed in the event of an athlete’s injury.
Engage with the parents of the members of the softball program in a positive and constructive manner.
Establish a presence with youth volleyball via summer camps and coaching clinics.
Other duties related to team coaching as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience as a head or assistant high school volleyball coach or college-level coaching experience preferred.
Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
Must have knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CPR, First Aid AED and other coaching certifications will be required prior to coaching.
This is a volunteer, part-time, stipend role, with the expectation of afternoon and evening availability for practices and games.
Terms of Volunteer Participation
Seasonal stipend as per agreement.
