About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Tax to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining and recommending the most efficient tax structure for a variety of international and domestic deal workouts and restructurings. This role involves developing and implementing up-to-date portfolio tax planning strategies to optimize the timing and character of taxable income. The Head of Tax will also review and advise on tax sections of legal documentation, perform extensive research on advanced tax issues, and work closely with various internal teams to manage real-time tax matters. Applicants must have a minimum of 8-10 years' of tax structure experience in the financial services industry, with a preference for those who have in-house tax experience at an alternative asset manager. A JD, Masters of Taxation, or LLM is preferred. The role requires a deep understanding of hedge fund and private credit fund structuring, as well as the tax treatment of various investment strategies and instruments. Knowledge of international taxation, particularly in the EU and/or LatAm countries, is also a key requirement. The Head of Tax will be expected to provide leadership and strategic recommendations, contribute to investor due diligence meetings, and manage professional relationships with external tax advisors and deal counsels.
