The Head of Services Technology will define, drive and execute the Services Technology strategy, focusing on platform modernization, driving digitization and improved client experience, risk reduction, and delivering scalability and simplification, while leveraging the best architectural principles, key strategic technologies and sound procedures expected of a global, systemically important financial institution.
This role will closely partner with the Services Front Office to continue to develop an execution framework aligned with business strategy. Responsibilities include:Build and lead a 15,000-person Technology team (with a blend of FTE members and managed resources) responsible for developing technology solutions to address complex business requirementsPartner with Services front office to manage a large technology budget of $1.5Bn and prioritize Book of Work and deliverablesManage the technology estate aligned to the Services EMT; Partner with EMT on quarterly business reviews with the CFO and CEOManage the implementation, enhancement and scalability of Services platforms (1,200+ applications in production), ensuring convergence to global consistency, standard platforms, mitigation of key risks (controls), and alignment with architecture principlesDrive transformation to agile product delivery, including adoption of concepts akin to business agility, organize around value and lean portfolio managementPioneer a strong engineering culture to include adoption of the CIO engineering manifesto & testing manifestoDrive developer productivity through adoption of CI/CD tooling and code completion tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Monitor and improve DORA metrics for the groupManage large digital transformations and implementations to include new platform offerings, regulatory commitments and enterprise-wide GEN AI tool adoptionLead and manage external regulator reviews and updates representing technologyCollaborate with CISO and the CTO to drive enterprise-wide priorities such as information security controls and strategic architectures and technologiesEnsure Services Technology operates within Technology Risk appetite, including cyber risk appetite.
Further to that, actively improve controls through automation and ensure continued improvement in risk and control cultureOversee relationships with key 3rd party vendors including software providers and extended workforce providers, which may include RFP processesEstablish appropriate management governance processes while delivering on regulatory and associated data programs including successful and timely closure of Issues/CAPs/MRAs/BSER breaksDrive and implement Citi Technology-wide initiatives for continued process improvement such as supporting Citi’s data architecture strategy & controls automation strategyManage the performance of the group including mid and year end appraisals, management of promotion pipelines and succession planningFoster an inclusive, diverse and ethical organizationQualifications:Significant experience in Financial Services preferably in Transaction BankingPossesses an observable and impactful delivery track record, including the architecture, build, deployment, integration and ongoing management of large-scale technology ecosystemsDemonstrated skills in developing and executing strategies for transformation programsStrong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changingProven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships and client relationshipsExperience analyzing client requirements and developing suitable, cost effective solutionsComprehensive understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policiesExperience in performing complex problem solving and business trade off decision analysisExperience of work in a process driven environmentDemonstrated people leadership / managementAbility to provide leadership to the next generation of the global technology journeyIn addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
