Position Overview
Reporting to the SVP of Global Sales, Jeff Huisman, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Solutions Engineering. This role is pivotal in driving our pre-sales technical strategy and leading a team of high-performing sales engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for enabling customer success through innovative technology solutions.
The impact you’ll make:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of sales engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the sales engineering strategy to support business goals and drive revenue growth.
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify prospective customers, understand their technical requirements, and demonstrate how our products meet their needs.
- Product Demonstrations: Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging product demonstrations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences, effectively communicating the features, benefits, and value proposition of our products.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Marketing, Product Management, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap and represent the customer.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise, answer technical inquiries, and offer customer recommendations, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Business Value Assessments: Execute Business Value Assessments / ROI calculations to anchor business value across stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term success.
The amazing skills you'll bring to Ambient.ai:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in sales engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in enterprise technology and SaaS.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical background with experience in AI, computer vision, and cloud technologies. Understanding of L2 switching (VLANs, L2 vs. L3, network isolation) and basic Linux networking skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
- Customer-focused: A customer-first attitude with the ability to understand and address customer needs.
- Leadership: Proven ability to build, lead, mentor, and inspire a team.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence various teams within the organization.
We take a market-based approach to pay here at Ambient.ai, which may vary depending on multiple factors. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, level, market conditions, and internal parity.
Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package. As a fast-growing start-up, our regular employees are also granted stock options and an opportunity to succeed when Ambient.ai succeeds. As a young start-up with product market fit, our stock upside is a substantial part of our total rewards strategy.
The pay scale below represents the starting base salary range we expect to pay for this position and is subject to change:
SF Bay Area: $180,000 - $210,000
