The anticipated salary range for this role is between $213,000.00 and $250,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Head of Finance Transformation to lead the SMBC MANUBANK Finance team to transform and modernize the technology platform of the Finance organization. This position is responsible for building a finance process and technology solution architecture while establishing finance data standards. The objectives for this role are: (a) enhance organizational capability by intelligently automating accounting and finance processes; (b) enable efficiencies to build capacity; (c) build capacity to provide timely, accurate, and complete business insights and analytics.
This role will lead the Finance team to structure, transition, and deliver all aspects of transformation projects for the Finance organization. This is an opportunity to lead the creation, development, conversion, and ongoing responsibility of a quality and secure finance technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will partner with the Chief Accounting Officer, other Finance leaders and across departments to develop best practices and quality data, reporting, analysis, inclusive of all required General Ledger interfaces, UAT, reconciliations and certifications, regulatory data identification and mapping including required data standards and governance and drafting any new procedures and process documents.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities:
+ Define and execute the finance process and technology long-term strategy including the Finance Transformation Roadmap with senior leadership.
+ Serve as the Finance representative to lead all Finance Transformation projects such as Oracle Cloud GL implementation, A/P conversion, GL account reconciliation implementation, interest rate risk model conversion, regulatory reporting software conversion and enterprise data warehouse build.
+ Coordinate and collaborate with finance transformation project leaders at SMBC holding company to ensure alignment of technology objectives and projects execution.
+ Champion business process changes by understanding current state processes, helping to define the target state, and work with business partners on the delivery of required technology to execute efficient process design.
+ Responsible for planning, prioritization, selection, design, and rollout of new finance systems or changes to core/finance-related systems.
+ Primary liaison with Data Governance team and Data Engineering teams to identify Key Data Elements for the Finance organization and establish finance data standards
+ Primary liaison with Finance business partners (Corporate IT, Data Governance, Data Engineering) on Finance specific initiatives and organization-wide initiatives.
+ Demonstrate a thorough understanding of internal financial policies and supports adherence to established procedures.
+ Participate in due diligence for new products and business opportunities.
Other responsibilities include:
+ Reconciliation and accounting experience will be leveraged to help us record, report, analyze and comply with both regulatory and financial reporting needs.
+ Work with the Accounting and Internal Controls teams to support external audit requests
+ Work with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer to support regulatory requests
+ Stakeholder governance to drive high internal client satisfaction
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
+ 10+ years of experience with financial institutions, within Finance Transformation, IT or Accounting roles.
+ Experience in managing large technology implementations including G/L conversion and Finance Transformation.
+ Proficiency with Accounting concepts and accounting systems
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
+ Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
+ Ability to listen, influence and deliver results in a matrix organization.
+ Ideal but not required:
+ CPA
