Job overview:
The Head of Client Solutions Strategy is a newly created function and will play a crucial role in defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for our overall service offerings—including private asset solutions—for clients and prospects, globally. The role focuses on evaluating and prioritizing competitive offerings, articulating our value proposition, developing pricing and positioning strategies, and ensuring an efficient process by which solutions are created for the market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the investment management industry and a proven track record in solution design, positioning, and go-to-market strategy roles.
Responsibilities:
¾ Team Leadership & Development
- Establish the solutions strategy capability and function within Cambridge Associates.
- Design team, identifying capabilities and roles required to support delivery of annual goals
- Lead function, establishing priorities, communicating objectives, and collaborating with senior leadership
¾ Solutions Strategy & Delivery
- Through market expertise and client feedback, identify and recommend solution concepts with insight on total addressable market for CA
- Lead evaluation of opportunity and CA competitive positioning to prioritize and inform solution development pipeline
- Work with asset class leaders, Fund Solutions, Client Solutions and Marketing teams to refine the solution delivery governance, process, and support execution
¾ Go-to-Market Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies for our service offerings, and specifically, private asset solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, sales, and client engagement—to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategies.
- Identify internal roadblocks to growth and work with senior managers to mitigate those issues
- Identify target markets, segments, and key stakeholders to drive adoption and market penetration.
¾ Solutions Positioning
- Craft compelling value propositions that resonate with CA’s clients and prospects.
- Articulate the unique benefits and differentiators of our private asset solutions.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
¾ Pricing and Packaging:
- Develop philosophy on how we price offerings for clients and for prospects, getting agreement from senior managers across the firm
- Develop and manage pricing strategies that align with market demand and CA’s objectives.
- Create packaging options that enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of our services.
- Monitor market trends and adjust pricing and packaging strategies as needed.
¾ Sales Readiness
- Oversee the development of appropriate go to market materials such as presentations, RFP responses, FAQs, etc
- Train and support the sales and investment teams on service offerings, value propositions, and competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with sales and investment teams to presentation offerings
- Gather feedback and continuously improve marketing strategies.
¾ Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for solution marketing-related inquiries and initiatives.
Requirements:
¾ A proven track record in investment solutions strategy, capital formation, or product marketing , with at least 10+ years’ experience
¾ Preference for experience in the institutional and / or family segments, as well as alternative investment experience
¾ Proven ability to sell both services and products
¾ Expert knowledge of the investment industry
¾ Ability to instill a strong data and analytics culture to drive business decisions
¾ Strength in instilling rigor into processes, and driving adoption
¾ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or comparable system
¾ Ability to set and achieve bold goals
¾ Competitive attitude / driven to win for the team
¾ Strong listening and organizational / stakeholder management skills
¾ Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
¾ Series 3 (must pass exam within three months of employment)
¾ Undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree and/or CFA/CAIA is a plus
