Job Title: Head of Business Management – Global Operations
Division: Global Operations

Key Relationships: Head of Operations, UW Operations, Claims Operations, Delegated Operations, Conduct Risk, Controls. Compliance, Risk Management IT, Underwriters and Claims Managers, Facilities, Finance, Reinsurance, other staff and external clients and service providers.
Job Summary: Responsible for driving the Group Head of Operations strategic agenda. Working closely with the Group Head of Operations to develop strategic programmes and initiative to support the delivery of our vision to become a best in class, high performing team, establishing Beazley service as a differentiator in the market. To co-manage the logistics associated with running the Global Operations team including governance, project work, budget and communications responsibilities. Manage a team of platform Operations Managers.
Key Responsibilities: To assist the Group Head of Operations in the delivery of their key responsibilities covering all aspects including strategy, business planning, projects, resources and business processes.
Strategy
- Work with the Head of Operations and their wider team to develop and implement a strategy to deliver operational excellence across Beazley.
- Provide input into and work closely with the Head of Operations in the preparation and delivery of an annual Business Plan.
- In conjunction with the Head of Operations and their direct reports carry out periodic strategic reviews of Operations service offerings to ensure delivery of services are in line with SLAs and stakeholder expectation.
- Work closely with Head of Operations to initiate and deliver operations-related and Beazley wide strategic projects as well as smaller initiatives.
- Work closely with the business as required to understand key business requirements.
- Work with the Head of Operations to plan and execute effective meetings and workshops of the Operations leadership team in order to review progress against the Business Plan and discuss key strategic and operational issues.
- Undertake analysis as requested by the Head of Operations to identify opportunities to further improve the delivery of operational excellence at Beazley.
- Support transformation and change management as required
Operational Support
- Manage the budgeting process and centrally coordinate recruitment and headcount allocation.
- Coordinate key cross-operations meetings as requested by the Head of Operations to ensure effective team collaboration.
- On behalf of the Head of Operations write effective Committee and Board Level updates and participate proactively on Committees when requested on behalf of the Head of Operations.
Training and development
- Help coordinate Beazley's involvement in Lloyd’s market initiatives to ensure that we influence Operational Strategy at a senior level within the market.
Beazley Processes and Controls
- Build knowledge of Beazley’s processes and requirements, specifically any related to our risk control environment, and act as a center of excellence for ensuring the wider Operations team is aware of and following correct procedures.
- Act as the main contact point for all Internal Audit and risk management enquiries, allocating tasks as appropriate.
Staff Management Support
- Provide support to ensure that Operations staff have terms of reference setting out their responsibilities and reporting lines.
- Provide support to ensure that people are recruited, deployed and developed to anticipate and meet current and future needs.
- Provide support to ensure that all employees have the knowledge and the skills necessary to perform effectively in their given roles and responsibilities.

Knowledge and Experience
- Solid experience of Insurance (London Market preferred)
- Knowledge of UW and Claims management and process gained at a senior level
- Experience of project management within a fast moving environment
- Ability to input into Group strategy
- Experience of client service management gained within an insurance environment
- Hands-on experience of team management and people development
- Experience of implementing process improvement, ideally within a traditional environment

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual’s location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $176,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
