Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.


+ High school graduation or GED .


+ Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.


+ Experience in working in any of the following: custodial, hospitality, environmental services, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance.


+ Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. unassisted and 50 pounds assisted.


+ Walk 3-5 miles daily and access all areas of the building in a timely manner.




Preferred Qualifications


+ Experience supervising staff members.


+ Experience providing professional cleaning methods and techniques, including measuring and mixing cleaning chemicals.


+ Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.


+ Bilingual, English & Spanish.


+ Ability to provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.




Job Description

The Head Custodian position provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of custodial operations at Texas State Housing Facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment. The head custodian supervises full-time staff that service student residential facilities.



Job Duties

Custodial Services:



+ Directly supervise a custodial staff team and perform various cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, and removing trash.


+ Provide floor care, including shampooing carpets, carpet extraction, using automatic scrubbers, and stripping and finishing floors.


+ Ensure that assigned facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition





Administration:



+ Performs quality control inspections and documentation.


+ Manage staff performance.


+ Process and review time reports, inspection reports, absence documentation,

+ This position requires driving University vehicles.
