Hazardous Material Controller at CGT Staffing

Job Summary:
The Hazardous Material Controller I is responsible for the movement, management, and distribution of materials, products, and/or waste within the facility while ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and established procedures. This role is vital to maintaining safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The position includes overseeing material storage, ensuring accurate documentation of inventory and waste, and organizing storage areas for optimal functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload shipments into and out of trucks.
• Perform receiving activities for chemicals, including verifying materials against purchase orders, ensuring Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available, labeling containers, recording transactions in the inventory database, and notifying relevant departments of deliveries.
• Manage materials within the facility by coordinating storage, distribution, and packaging to minimize handling.
• Prepare materials and packages for shipment, ensuring proper container selection, labeling, and documentation (e.g., manifests, land bans, bills of lading, UPS/FedEx shipments).
• Conduct cycle counting activities and document inventory in relevant databases.
• Inspect and maintain storage areas in compliance with safety and organizational standards.
• Promote safety, security, and quality initiatives throughout the facility.
• Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum carts.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic mathematical and reading skills.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
